Swarm
A Swarm is a huge flock of flying insects modified by Active Matter. Like normal insects, the Swarm creates a hive for itself, which is located on a tower or other high point. Swarm only attacks in open space. Therefore, you can hide in any building, under trees or in water. Swarm attacks are mostly disturbing - they are just insects, but they can find weak spots and sting you. So you will die if you don't get rid of the insects as soon as possible. The most effective weapon against the Swarm is the flamethrower, shotguns and assault rifles are less effective. A Swarm hive can be destroyed. Then underneath it you can find Active Matter, which was collected and accumulated by the Swarm. However, be aware that many insects will fly out of the disturbed hive, ready to attack all living things in the area.

Description
The swarm enemy consists of a swarm of large bugs that fly around most maps. Swarms attack the player when they are nearby, but they do not attack players while indoors or in shelter, so there are easy ways to avoid swarms. There are 2 kinds of swarms in maps, that being hive swarms and "corpse" swarms. Hive swarms have set spawns and are most often seen on the "Hive" version of the Factory map. They often have a "hive" nearby their location that can be destroyed, releasing active matter and tons of extra bugs. "Corpse" swarms are a more docile version of the swarm as they are more interested in corpses of preferably players, but sometimes other humanoid anomalies. They are common on almost every map and can be spotted high above the ground, waiting for food to feed on. Unlike Hive swarms, Corpse swarms can easily be scarred off through shooting at the swarm, with volume mattering more than precision, meaning rifles, submachine guns, and pistoles being almost useless, shotguns being acceptable, and flamethrower being perfect. The best way to combat Swarms is merely to avoid them.
Appearance
Hive swarms take the appearance more similar to a swarm of wasps. They are tan ish orange and strongly resemble wasps or angry bees. They center around their hives as more will fly out when the hive is destroyed. Their appearance is difficult to determine as they are a fast moving swarm, but you can tell the difference with how they center around one area.
Corpse swarms more take the appearance of mosquitos. they have glowing blue green hue coming from their back half. They are more independent than hive swarms, as they stay high off the ground waiting for something to eat or attack. Sometimes they can be lower to the ground but they are easy to avoid. The most prominent map they appear on is on Military base as they can be seen high above the map and will eat any dead players, which makes it easy to find potential loot of dead players.
Tips & Tricks
Best thing to do around swarms is to avoid them. They give almost no meaningful benefit to killing and are a pain to fully kill. If you do wanna go after them, a flamethrower is your best bet. They melt swarms in an instant like butter. However if you didn't bring one, just head indoors. They wont attack you and you can regroup yourself to decide how to run as far away as you can.
