Dendroid
Dendroid - a transitional stage between a human infected by the thorns of plants mutated under the influence of Active Matter and a Flowerman. Dendroids appear sluggish and clumsy until they spot an enemy, as their bodies are undergoing metamorphosis due to the thorns. All the organism's resourses at this stage go to the formation of its own "nest", using dendroid body as consumable material. Aware of their vulnerability in this stage, the creatures often stick together. They look weaker than a full-fledged Flowerman, but unlike him still retain the fragments of human consciousness, which allows some individuals to use firearms. When the metamorphoses are over, the dendroids merge their seeds to cultivate a single unified nest. Their bodies at this moment become a drained and exhausted shell, having lost the ability to think independently, which then completes the transformation into a Flowerman under the guidance of a strengthened newborn "nest".
Notes
Description
Dendroid anomalies are humanoid enemies that are stated to be in a transitional stage between human and flowermen. Because of this, they retain the ability to wield weapons that range from basic screwdrivers and axes to Mosin carbines and TOZ-Bs. Thankfully, they can’t equip armor, but they do seem to have increased health compared to turned soldiers (I could be wrong). Dendroids do possess a similar attack pattern to flowermen as they approach the player and rush them down, while attempting to dodge shots. They attack in swarms just like flowermen, which only adds to their lethality. Their attack is similar to bum rushing the player, as they have extremely high damage with melee weapons and don't run away. once they reach you, they will swing until you die or they die. Be careful when dealing with dendroids due to their high damage and speed, they can be very easily underestimated, leading to an early death. Luckily, they only spawn in Overgrown versions of maps, so they are only on a few maps.
Appearance
Dendroids are humanoid anomalies that take the appearance of a human being consumed by nature. Their bodies appear to be covered in wood or bark with branches or tree roots surrounding them. They are stated in game to be undergoing "a transitional phase between a human infected by thorns of plants mutated under the influence of active matter and a flowerman", implying that they were once explorers of the multiverse that died on the map and transformed into dendroids.
Tips & Tricks
There aren't many tips I can give as to how to deal with dendroids. They are a challenge to take down and there's always more than 1. dendroids with firearms are about the same as turned, so they are easy to deal with, but they're almost always tag-teaming with 1-2 melee dendroids. best thing you can do is mag dump if you aren't experienced. Do note that players with good tracking and aim will have a better time dealing with dendroids, but those with less experience will find more success via accuracy by volume. spray and pray can work given you hit enough shots.
