Statues
These petrified beings are former quarry workers from Dainiy Island, tragically transformed by a catastrophic release of Active Matter. Statues remain motionless as long as someone is looking at them. However, the moment you avert your gaze, they close the distance to their target with terrifying speed for a creature made of stone. Up close, Statues are extremely dangerous - their massive weight allows them to crush a human in seconds. During raids, you may encounter stone cairns. Be cautious around them, as destroying one may summon a Statue somewhere nearby. The best tactic against Statues is to keep your distance and never let them out of your sight.

Appearance
The Statue appears as a humanoid figure encased in black, lumpy stone. They will be found in various poses when still. When they move, a distorted effect encompasses its body, disappearing when halted again. Their stone cairns look like a simple pile of rocks, easy to spot in a building but harder to spot amongst grass or debris.
Tips & Tricks
The Statue can only move if its not looked at. As a result, to prevent the Statue from closing in you must watch it as you move backwards. Be careful of walking to places that break your line of sight with the Statue, as it will move on its own to get back in site of you. The Statue can only track you from a distance, and when you go beyond that distance, it will stop tracking you. Its pursuit can be heard with a visible audio cue. Statues will attack repeatedly if they close in on you, with moderate but constant damage. Stepping on a cairn will destroy the cairn but potentially spawn a Statue nearby
A group of Statues can be death if you don't control all of them. Your best bet is to run a certain direction for a bit. (Statues are slightly slower then running speed) and look at them all as they are grouped together, being watchful for other Statues as you move to create distance.
Statues can open doors and move up/down stairs, so trying to escape in buildings doesn't work.
Statues can be permanently destroyed with grenades.
+ If you have the time and no other dangers are nearby, it is possible to collect all statues nearby by looking at some statues and letting others approach you. If done correctly, all statues will be close by and in range of a single grenade, allowing for the best use of limited grenades.
